This is my name, and since I live in the U.S, 90% of the people I meet cannot get it correct. If you are going to give this name to your child, get used to them getting called something like:
Emily
Amelia
Amee-lee-ay
Amalia
Ay-mi-lee
Amy
If you're not in a french-speaking country, your kid will have to deal with this their entire life.

Pronounced "ah-mai-li:ye".

It also can be pronounced like "ah-me-lee", or "amelí".
