Amélie is a gorgeous strong name. I would happily use it, first or middle name, preferably with the accent, but Amelie is still good. I very much prefer it to Amelia.
I think it's a beautiful name, and one of my friends is called Amelie, (without the é) but people who have just met her always think her name is Amelia or Emilie if they've only seen it written down and that would be annoying. But that's also one of the reasons I like it because Amelia is a pretty name, but it's SO overused, and Amelie holds the same charm while being more unique.
When I first saw this name, I thought it was pronounced aim - mah - lee. I then was told that was wrong, and that the French pronunciation is Ah -mah - lee. Now, I can't see it the other way as well. But I constantly will spell it Amalie. Amelie is just... a bit different. I love this name, but prefer Anelie.
This name is very dainty, elegant, and pretty. I like the sound of it.

This name is very similar to mine, Amelia, but it is the French version. I love this name but in England it is often confused with the more-popular Emily. However all these names come from the same "family" and in my, biased, opinion, they are all beautiful!

"Amélie" is one of my favorite movies. I think it's a very pretty name as well. If I ever have a daughter, I would name her this.
Amélie is a beautiful name but beware that in North America, it may be often confused with the ever-popular EMILY. Especially if you pronounce it AHM-uh-lee.
