This name is so lovely; it reminds me of a combination of my name Amy, which I love; and Althea, one of my favorite names, that I went by when I was 5 and 6 years old! When I first heard this name, I felt like it was made for me, lol! However it's hard for me to separate the name from the goat character from Greek mythology. Once you can get past the goat association, though, I think it's a lovely and very rare name! Ooh also, interestingly enough, my Hebrew name, Yael, happens to mean "mountain goat," but it's in the top 5 Israeli girls' names and because it's so popular, I don't associate it with goats whenever I hear it! On the other hand, I know of only one Amalthea, and she's a goat soooo…yeah.
