This is probably one of my favorite names. Less common than Annabelle, simple spelling, works on any age, and it sounds beautiful. Belle and Amy or Ama are all great nicknames!

Very unique and I love that it is medieval English, plus there are cute nickname options like Ama or Belle.

I love the name Amabel. To me, it has the edge over Annabel and Mabel, and is underused, compared to both of those names. I do also love Annabel, Annabelle, and Annabella, and Mabel is super cute, but Amabel is just a little less expected, a little older, and somehow, I just find that I am loving it. Amy could be a nickname, as could Belle.
I really like the sound and meaning of the name Amabel. Amabel is such a cute name. Why did this name stop being used? D:

I like the name Amabel, but I prefer Mabel, which I love. The "a" is just too random. When I first heard this name all I could think about was the word 'aimiable'. I do prefer this name over Annabel (sorry), and over Amanda (eew, sorry, I can't help it.) But still, I would never name my child Amabel. Sorry.
This is a pretty name without being too fancy, and with a charming meaning. To me it sounds prettier than its short form, "Mabel" (largely due the pronunciation), not that I don't like the name "Mabel".
