I used to like it a lot more except I met a girl that ruined it for me. Anyway, I think it’s cute but kind of juvenile sounding. Use it as a nickname and make her full name Alexandra or Allison or Alicia...maybe even Alyssa.
My name is Ally and I love my name so... I don't think its childish, I'm very mature and I think my name suits me perfectly. The name is also beautiful.

As a nickname, it's okay. But as a legal name, it sounds a bit childish. Alison would be a better choice in my opinion.
I think it's a cute name. But due to the spelling it makes me think of the pronunciation of the word "Ally" which I don't really care for.

My first name is Abigail but I'm called Abby. I used to hate my own name as a kid because it sounded too much like Ally. I really don't like the name Ally.
This is my cousin's name but as she's gotten older we call her Al more and more often because it sounds less babyish. I still love the name even though it's babyish.
I have a cousin with this name who I haven't talked to since she was 3. It will always sound like a toddler's name even if the woman is 80. Like Caylee or something.
I never did like this nickname much. I prefer Alison, as it sounds more mature and dignified. This works fine as a nickname, but it is quite childish as a proper name.
I had a friend named Ally. She was sort of straight-forward and not all to my liking, but that doesn't hinder my liking to the name. Actually knowing somone named Ally just increases it! It would go well with Abby. Paige-Abby and Dawn-Ally.
