A great name. It suits every age.

This name is very masculine and strong name, when I hear it I immediately picture a handsome guy. What I like about this name is that it is elegant without sounding forced or pretentious. I think this is the perfect name for any boy or grown man, because it's youthful yet classic.

I personally like this name. Not only because the spelling is somewhat more appealing and masculine than Alan or Allen, but also because it's the name of my love. I don't see the name as feminine however.

Allan is so much better than Alan. Allan is stirring and gorgeous, while Alan is just simply boring.

I agree with Yippal - the extra L makes all the difference.
