I know an Alina from the Czech Republic who pronounced it "Allen-uh".

Alina is one of the unusual and not common names in Russia as well. There are two pronunciations of this name one is with AH-lina and another is with first "a" pronounced as in Adam or Evan. And of course there is a famous and very old Russian name Alena with "E" in it pronounced as in YOrk. To me it sounds very gentle and beautiful, a light haired fair skin princess?!
