I think that Addie is a beautiful name on its own! I also love it as a nickname for Adella!
I personally love this name. It's a cute nickname for Adelaide or Addylyn.
Addie is the name of the wife and mother put to rest in William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying". The book is pretty depressing and literally opens with the mother watching her son build her own coffin.
Short name but Addie is spelled wrong, it's Addy.
This is a cute name and I love it! It's also my name. Simple, and the meaning is sweet and noble.
Very very very American (which is a bad thing!) and just an ugly and boring name! It’s
Not
Pretty.
I really like the name Addie. It’s cute on its own, or as a nickname for Adelaide, Adelyn (my favorite), Addeline, Adalee or any similar name with the “Ad/Add” sound. If I use this name for my future daughter, I would probably have to give her a longer name when she grows up and if she doesn’t want to be called Addie anymore, she can go by the full name.
So my name is Addaliegh and I go by Addie, I love it. My aunt is the first ever person to call me that and it just stuck.
Addie is a beautiful name.
1. I don't like this name at all.
2. If you're going to call your kid Addie stick with Addy instead.
3. That is all I have to say.
4. Do what I say because it will look so much better as Addy.
I don't get why so many people despise this nickname. It's sooo cute for Adelaide (one of my favorite names), Adeline/Adelina, and Addison. I disagree with Janessa2542, I think this is wayyy prettier and cuter than Addy.
I despise this nickname.
Adorable nickname for Adelie (my favorite of these), Adeline, Adelaide, Adele, Adela, Addison (my least favorite of these), Adelina, Adila, Adriana, Adrienne, etc. I really like it!
I like the name Addie but I'd never name my kid Addie.
I like it for a nickname. But in the old days many nicknames were given as first names. So it is fine.
I think the name Addie is an amazing name for a girl.
"Madelynne" isn't a name... It's just a kre8tiv spelling of Madelyn. But I was actually going to say the same thing, I would use this as a nickname for Madelyn/Madeline/Madeleine. It's much prettier, unique, and more classic than the horrible "Maddie".
I love Addie as a nickname for Madelynne.
This name is so much better that Addison, but I'll never use it.
I am known to everyone by the name Addie, though my given name is Adrianne. I like the name Addie, it's short, sweet and not very common. I almost never meet another Addie.
If I ever have a daughter I may name her Adell (after my Granny) and call her Addie for short!
I like this as a boy's name. It reminds me of a cute little freckled boy in a baseball cap.
I love Addie as a nickname for Addison. :)
I find Addie a nice name. Nothing complicated, just a simple name. I like it as a nickname for Addison.
This is my sister's nickname; her name is Sarah Addison, but we call her Addie, for my great-grandmother, Adele "Addie" Francis. Plus, I think "Addie" better fits her personality; "Sarah", while lovely, sounds too restrictive and formal for her.
