The definition of Abishag is not true. It states in the bible that she is beautiful. So her name would mean beautiful one rather than stray. The name Abishag is unique, personally I would love that name. When you read the Bible she is used to comfort David, out of all of them she was beautiful and humble. I have met an Abishag before, she had to explain her name and she had to use another definition for her name. I think that you should make your own name definition. For any Abishags reading this I personally hope that you love your name just how it is; beautiful, unique and humbled. So if anyone asks what is the definition of Abishag, tell them the true and honest definition.

The name has no meaning but the prefix Avi (shag has no meaning!)
Abishag was a young woman of Shunem, distinguished for her beauty. She was chosen to be a helper and servant to David in his old age. Among Abishag's jobs was to lie next to David and keep him warm; however, David did not have sexual relations with her (1 Kings 1:4). After David's death Adonijah persuaded Bathsheba, Solomon's mother, to entreat the king to permit him to marry Abishag. Solomon suspected in this request an aspiration to the throne, and therefore caused him to be put to death (1 Kings 2:17-25).
