Certainly an intelligent name. If I named my child this, I'd hope twice as much that they'd have have high self esteem, and then they could pull it off. Ernest is actually a very charming, attractive name to me. I'll definitely consider this as a middle name. I also suggest considering the name Ernestine for a girl. It sounds a little less old-fashioned and probably would be better accepted in society if you like the sound of this name.
I honestly don't get what is so bad about this name. It sounds charming and intelligent if you ask me. Not at all prude or elderly, and Gertie is a cute nickname.
This is my nickname. My real name is Sylvia, but I've always loved Sylvie more. It's one of those few names that have an equally charming spelling and pronunciation. It looks modern and classic at the same time. Definitely a timeless name!
This is probably what my son, Theodore will be called as a teenager. We are currently calling him Teddy, but that may become too childish at some point. I think Ted is a nice nickname, but definitely not a legal name. It's also nice to see young men with simple, strong, classic names likes these rather than the trendy garbage parents are naming their boys nowadays.
Theodore sounds like an extremely intelligent, logical, yet sensitive, charming man who is a bit nerdy, but immensely handsome at the same time. Definitely a classic and timeless keeper!
