Re: Jumping on the bandwagon, You say/ you think
This is my son Telal: (how do you prn this one? Is it Te-lal or Tel-al?)
You say: Hey Telal.
You think: Wow, never heard that one before. Wonder if it's foreign? This is my daughter Loshonda:
You say: Hi Loshonda. I'm Ju-lisha, but most people call me Lisha. You got a nicknane?
You think: I hope she has because i can't keep saying that. To many o's. I'll say Leshonda or Lashonda by mistake. This is my son Jhye:
You say: Hiya Jhye.
You think: Thank God she said it first. I would've prn it like Kai. But apart from that, i like. This is my daugher Shaylyssa:
You say: Hi Shaylyssa. You got a nickname?
You think: Y and A overload. Ghetto with a capital G.This is my son Zarek: (Prn like Tariq (Za-rek) or Tyrik (Za-reek)
you say: Hey Zarek. Cool name.
You think: Hmm, prefer Tariq / Tyrik, but not a bad variation. I've seen worse. This is my daughter Jasiarna:
You say: Hi, mind if I call you Jas, or do you prefer Siarna?
You think: Poor kid. Way to long. Ghetto. This is my son Jaysic:
You say: How you doing Jaysic?
You think: He has the word Sic in his name. Jayzic would be a little better imo. But either way i think of the rapper Jay-Z.This is my daughter Akeisha:
You say: Hey Akeisha. You mind being called Keisha?
You think: Either call her Alisha or Lakeisha, not both. This is my son Jayvinn:
You say: Hi Jayvinn.
You think: I'm gonna call him Javin, i have no idea why, but i know i will. This is my daughter Boeshay:
You say: Ahhh, cute name.
You think: She's gonna hate that by the time she's 13. I would never have come up with that name in a million years. Sounds like a perfume or deodorant. This is my son Zayleb:
You say: Zayleb...wow. Nice to meet you.
You think: Zayleb? Did i hear that right? Zay-leb? My God what was she thinking. Zay? Zayzay? Leb? Lebby? I can't even think of a good nn.

I like your variation on Jaysic, Jayzic. With the z do you think people would have more trouble pronouncing it? I pronounce it Jase-ick

Well I've been pronouncing most of those wrong then :).
Telal I said as Teh-lahl.
Jhye i said right to start with then decided to say it like Jay (don't ask me why)!
Zarek i think i got right but i wasn't sure.
Jaysic i said Jay-sick (which to me sounds horrible)It's Telal and Jaysic that i have a problem with. To me the spellings don't match the sounds you want to make. I would nver have though of pronouncing Telal as Te-lau because it has an l on the end. If this name in foreign and that is how they say, then that's fine, you just might have to explain it to people like moi sometimes. But if it's a name you created yourself, you may want to consider changing the spelling.
Same with Jaysic. I saw the name Jay in it, so pronouned it seperatly, giving me Jay-sic. But then i have no idea how else you could spell it to get the sound you want. As i said it might just be me because i do have trouble with names that use your style (e.g Kanye being prn Karn-yay), i just don't understand it. Am i missing something?

Telal is from Willie Telau the football player. He was my ex's(my kids dad) fave footy player and he is Leboneese, My ex was also. I always loved Tyler Jackson but when I got pregnant we decided on Telal Jackson because it sounded more Leb lol. I have never been good at putting sounds done on paper or message boards lol but I think Teh-lahl might be a better way to have it written, it rhymes with how, cow etc only with an L. Normally I just say its Telal as in Willie Telau and people(from Australia) know what I mean lol. It's very rare I have to pronounce it on boards, maybe people are just to scared to ask lol. I don't think he would have any problems at school with it but I'll never know :(
