Re: Congratulations!
Nicholas and I were happy to welcome Mélanie Adélaïde, Luc Jean-Baptiste, Siana Aderyn, and Tristan Emrys into our family. One year later, this is what they're up to:Mélanie is still very serious and shy, though she's loosened up a bit and has made a few good friends in her first grade class. She picked up English very quickly; I was impressed as it took me years to learn French that well! Mélanie is very reserved, and sometimes Nicholas and I have trouble getting her to tell us what she wants. However, we have discovered that she likes horses, and she started lessons three months ago and seems to be enjoying them.Luc is a fun, athletic boy, who is almost the opposite of his sister. Luc is chatty (though he still speaks in French sometimes) and is friends with nearly all the boys in his class. Luc loves soccer, and played on his school's team this year. He has also expressed an interest in learning baseball, which he had never played before his arrival.Siana, or Sadie, is a great little girl. She and Mélanie have become friends, a friendship which I believe was formed by the more outgoing Sadie. Sadie is friendly and sweet and has a habit of drawing pictures to represent her current mood. She's quite the artist. We offered Sadie riding lessons with Mélanie, but Saie said that she would prefer dancing school, where she is taking tap and ballet.Tristan is absolutely adorable. He is one of those toddlers who is always smiling...unless you leave him in a room alone for more than about five minutes (which can be a problem at bedtime). He loves to play with Luc and Sadie, though the quiet Mélanie does not excite him as much. Tristan and I have fun spending time together while the other three are at school.
