FAMILY
Parent #1
Full Name: Mollie Mary Magnuson
Age: 30
Occupation: Full-time mum / Private tutor / Author
Other facts: Mollie is a trained primary school teacher but has been a full-time mum since the birth of her first baby, Octavia, nearly seven years ago. With her youngest, Tasha, now in full time school, Mollie has begun to dip back into work, privately tutoring children to enhance their English and maths. Mollie has always enjoyed reading and writing - especially Young Adult fiction - and since quitting work to look after her babies has dedicated all of her (sparse) free time to writing novels. Mollie also loves cooking - especially baking and strives to get Octavia and Tasha fully involved in the kitchen - and taking the family's Dachshund-cross, Archie, for walks.
Parent #2
Full Name: James Presley
Age: 33
Occupation: University Lecturer
Other facts: James works incredibly hard to support his family. Although he has a university where he is based, James often finds himself on the road a lot, undertaking research and training all around the country. Despite his absence, James tries to be a hands-on dad as best he can, he loves football and regularly takes both daughters to local home matches. He also takes them to their swimming classes on a Sunday morning and always treats them to a breakfast or trip to the park afterwards.
Current Children
Full Names: Octavia Mary Eleanore Presley and Natasha Sapphire Eve Presley
Ages: 6 and 5
Other facts: Octavia and Tasha are very sweet children, born just 16 months apart, they're very close and do a lot together. Both children are in primary school now and making progress. Octavia is very headstrong and this often gets her into trouble when she refuses to do something because she doesn't see the point in it; she is also very aware of the early cliques developing in her class and tries to be a friend to everyone, standing up for children who can fall foul of bullies. Academically, Octavia is reading well above expectations for her age, she also has a good understanding of measurements such as weighing.
Tash enjoyed school to start with but has struggled with the transition into Year 1 where things have become more structured and formal. She prefers to try things out for herself with practical experiences and doesn't have much stamina to read or write for lengths of time. Like her sister, Tasha has a good grasp of most mathematical concepts and is very scientifically curious.
Both sisters go to swimming lessons and in the past has tried gymnastics, rugby and football - with Mollie and James wanting to give them as many early experiences as possible. Octavia and Tasha are now able to pick one other hobby to continue alongside swimming for a little while and they're currently considering mixed martial arts and gymnastics respectively.
Language? The family is monolingual, speaking English, although both Octavia and Tasha learn Spanish at school.
Nationality: All members of the family were born, and still live in, England.
Religion? Neither Mollie nor James practice religion and are raising their daughters similarly.
ADOPTION
Preferred number of children: 1-2 (max 3 if part of a sibling group)
Gender preference: Male [see 'other comments' below]
Age preference: Birth-6yrs
Nationality preference: N/A
Language preference: At least basic English
Religion preference: N/A
Will you accept/would you prefer:
--siblings? Yes
--multiples? Yes
--children with disabilities/illnesses? Mollie has worked with children with additional needs and has a nephew with high-functioning autism. The family are willing to take children with emotional, social or behavioural difficulties (such as ADHD) or communication difficulties. The family would also consider a child with more challenging learning needs such as Autism as long as, with support, the child would be able to become mostly-independent and lead their own life.
--pregnant teens/teen parents? No
Other preferences/thoughts/comments:
After two daughters, Mollie and James would love a son or two to balance out their crew. Mollie would willingly take in up to three children especially if they were a large sibling group who would otherwise be split up or placed in long term foster care, she would be willing to take in two boys and a girl or three boys. James meanwhile thinks they should only adopt one child, a son, or two maximum perhaps if they are twins or very close siblings like Octavia and Tasha. Mollie and James both like the idea of adopting older children who are at the "end of the line" but Mollie doesn't want a child older than her oldest - while James doesn't mind. Although it's been a long time since they had babies and toddlers around the house, Mollie isn't adverse to the idea of adopting a young child in need [James isn't too sure as his job keeps him out and about quite a lot and he worries about Mollie having a small child at home on her own].

Here you are!
Congratulations! Please welcome 5 year old twin boys from Spain! Octavia and Tasha will be able to communicate with them easily, and so will Mollie and James because Carlos and Felipe have been learning English at their old school in Spain. The fraternal twins' middle names are Henio (for Carlos) and Rio (for Felipe). Both of the twin's parents died on their honeymoon cruise as the boat sank. At that point, Carlos and Felipe were 3, so ever since then they have been living in the children's care home. I am sure that the girls, especially Tasha, will get on wonderfully with the boys. Please keep us informed for a short while about how they are coping with sudden change in their lives.

It has been 12 months since Carlos and Felipe joins the Presleys and they have flourished!
Both children were understandably quiet and unsure when they first came to England; their time in the care home meant they weren't where they should be in their emotional development and they struggled to communicate in either Spanish or English.
But now they're bouncy, happy 6 year old chaps who love school and are making amazing progress. Mollie and James are still super keen for Carlos and Felipe to keep learning Spanish so in addition to the short lessons during schooling, they go to Spanish classes once a week. Alongside Octavia and Tasha, the twins also take up swimming lessons - the first time they've been swimming - and have recently taken up football too.
Octavia and Tasha have taken well to their new brothers, they have gone into Tasha's class at school and she is very proud to tell everybody that they are her brothers while on the playground Octavia is fiercely protective of the quiet, Spanish boys. The school have been amazing in making Carlos and Felipe to feel welcome from putting Spanish labels around the classroom to covering adoption in their PSHE curriculum.
The family is looking forward to many more happy years raising their four beautiful children.
