Please welcome Hikari, Ji-Eun, and Joel Alexander! Hikari is a 5 year old girl from Japan, Ji-Eun is a 4 year old girl from South Korea, and Joel is a 2 year old boy from the Southwestern United States.
Hikari is a bright and engaging girl who really enjoys looking at maps and going for walks. She doesn't know how to ride a bike but she very much wants to learn. She wants to be an explorer when she grows up, although she isn't quite sure where in particular she'd like to explore as yet. Her parents are amphetamine users who lost custody of Hikari when she was three after a drug bust in her home. She has few memories of the incident, but often wakes up in the night missing her birth parents and wanting to see them.
Ji-Eun is a fun-loving little girl who especially enjoys messy crafts! Ji-Eun was removed from her home after her babysitter discovered that she was being physically abused. Because of this abuse she does not have the full use of both of her legs, and it is conceivable that she will need a wheelchair later in life. Despite this, she almost always has something to giggle about and loves to tell jokes.
Joel is a very shy little boy who gets nervous around new people, but is quite cuddly and friendly once he gets to know you! His parents died in a fire last year. He was rescued from the home but did suffer several burns and has some scarring on his arms and legs. He loves to listen to music and likes mixing up ingredients to help with cooking (but gets nervous with ovens and stove tops).
Please let us know how Hikari, Ji-Eun, and Joel are doing in their new home with you!
