Superheroes are my love. I saw the game since day one, but I wanted everything to be so perfect that it took me days to just flesh it out! I got two words for you, though: superhero congrats. I've tried them, twice, but neither really worked out. It would be great if you can make one, but beware, for as we all know, with great power comes great responsibility. 'Nuff said.
Ignatius Casey Davis, better known simply as Casey Davis, started out as a simple news reporter in the pleasant place which was Newbridge City, scooting around town with his motorcycle and with an eye always on potential news. But life never was that easy, wasn't it? No-one has a life that simple, not even Casey. Because when the night falls, and darkness blankets the city, Casey would reinvent himself as the masked vigilante Mulciber, who incinerates things with a mere glance and brings light - literal as well as figurative! - into the grimmest parts of town. As Mulciber, he enjoyed every bit of hammy freedom he wanted, raining lectures on the difference between good and evil to every villain who'd listen (and some who didn't really want to); when daylight returned, Mulciber would vanish, and Casey Davis would come running into the office of the NewsBridge newspaper with a brand-new story and exclusive interview with the superhero.
But as the story goes, nothing settles down comfortably in the lives of our heroes. Suspicion arose as to how Casey got all those amazing exclusives with the otherwise elusive Mulciber. Amongst those people was Casey's best friend since high school, Benjy Brown. While Benjy has his own ideas about how Casey got all those marvellous news, it was not until a certain incident that the dice were thrown. Casey, as Mulciber, was out fighting crime as usual when he encountered a young woman defending herself against a blatantly unmasked mugger. What made that particular night unusual, however, was that both woman and mugger were fighting not physically, but psychically - clutching their heads at various sprawled positions on the alley. Determined to break the stalemate, Casey sent a singing warning to the mugger, who let out a yelp of pain. In retaliation, the mugger turned to him, and to his shock, Casey felt a surge of immeasurable, paralysing pain penetrate his mind. But even more surprisingly, the pain lasted only moments, for soon after, the mugger shouted an exclamation and turned tail, running away as fast as he could.
Fortune seemed to be on Casey's side, for not only was the young woman the CEO of RoboTyx Industries, she was also a secret mutant, like him. Wanda Taylor had always kept her telepathic abilities hidden, but was forced to expose it when the mugger attacked her psychically. Wanda theorised that the mugger might be a telepath, and wondered aloud why he left Mulciber alone. Unlike most rescues, though, Wanda and Mulciber kept on crossing paths, the next time when Wanda was helping people exit a burning building by scanning for minds in the building. Mulciber, with his fiery powers, managed to diminish the flames enough for the people to rush out, marking their first partnership.
As time passed, their partnership went from occasional assistance to mutual heroism, as Wanda decided to become the superheroine Cerebra. Eventually, their relationship deepened, and three years after they first met, Casey and Wanda married - with Benjy as the best man, natch. Life seemed idyllic for the new family, with Casey now relegating his attentions almost entirely to superheroics and Wanda juggling being CEO and "base operator" for Casey. And Benjy, for his part, supported the two with what he could, himself refusing to live on their expenses and remaining a waiter in his family-run cafe. He was there when Casey and Wanda's first child, Jess, was born. Benjy remained a family friend, eventually playing uncle to the couple's four children.
However, not all is well in the world. Just a few weeks after their second child Charles' birth, a new supervillain emerged who called himself Virus, robbing banks and keeping everyone in sheer terror - terror which, Casey thought, was unreasonable, since the man was alone and unarmed! As ever, Mulciber appeared to foil Virus' plans, their first marked clash. Surprisingly, Virus attacked with the same overwhelming surge of pain as Casey had felt years ago, and similarly backed off soon after. In their following meetings, it almost always went the same way: Virus would appear to rob or take something, Mulciber would enter to stop his plans, and a battle will ensue where Virus seemed strangely reluctant to attack, be defeated as a result, and escape with some but not all of the loot. This led some people to suspect Mulciber and Virus working in league, but journalist Casey Davis' story proves otherwise.
As time goes by, a second generation emerged. All four of the Davis children grew up to follow their parents' footsteps. Jess became the hydrokinetic Tempesta, hurling water towards her enemies and sometimes appearing with her father (Jess, being the daughter of a rich CEO, never needed to work). Charles, meanwhile, became Cheetah-Man, the speedster sprinting through town. While his superheroics career was less famed, Charles was more content with the idea of inheriting RoboTyx Industries in the future, something his other siblings all agreed he will be good at. Jean and Chris, the twins who always stuck together, became FireEagle and WhiteCrane, the girl who sent tongues of flames and the boy who moved things without touching them. And alongside these children grew the Brown family - Benjy married Jennifer Moore, a scientist working for Wanda, and together they had a pair of fraternal twins, born, amazingly, on the same year as Jean and Chris. Lily and Michael, too, exhibited traits of mutations later on, something everyone seemed excited about. Sadly, Jennifer died of a car accident before she could witness her children becoming another pair of heroes watching over the city, the plant-powered Tiger Lily and the frosty Cyro.
Still, trouble still lurks ahead. Virus is reported to have formed an alliance with several other supervillains to bring Newbridge City down, and with Mulciber and Cerebra growing less active in face of their children, people worried who would defend them the most. But after a few attacks on the city, most of which were foiled by the Spectacular Six (that is, Tempesta, Cheetah-Man, FireEagle, WhiteCrane, Tiger Lily, and Cyro), which Virus again seemed reluctant to actively hinder. His archnemesis' actions arose suspicion for Casey, as he wondered if Virus knew that the Six were his offspring, and why, if he had known thus, didn't he attack Tiger Lily and Cyro instead. Wanda proposed that perhaps Virus knew Mulciber's children were in the team, but not which is which. In reality, there was a reason why Virus never targeted Casey and his family. Years ago, when they first met as fledgling hero and mugger, Virus had scanned Mulciber's memories and secret identity, the knowledge of which made him extremely unwilling to fight back. Virus' real identity... was Benjy Brown.

Being a True Believer, I found ways to stick in namesakes from comics to the entire lineage. Everyone, except for Casey, ironically, is named after Marvel comics characters, the majority from the X-Men comics, seeing as they have lots of people there (Casey was named after a Mirage Studios character).
