Baron: George Thomas FitzGilbert, 3rd Baron FitzGilbert (34)
Lady: Jane nee Greytonne (17)
Lord: Luke Francis (1)
Lord: Joscelin George (nb)
Slightly over a year has passed since the crowning of King Henry. As was expected the young Royal family had got to the business of running Angleterra, but for some reason, that was completely foreign to George, there continued to be mutterings of the most foul kind, of murder & rebellion.
George, however, knew that he could only take the course of action that the LORD our God put forth to him. So he took to studying his bible and on the morning of a planned visit by Lord Bartholomew he came across his bit of scripture in the Book of Proverbs...
" An evil man is bent only on rebellion; a merciless official will be sent against him.
George took this as a sign that the people trying to rebel against the King were evil and that only a merciless offical could be used to counter their attempts a treachery. Upon Bartholomew's arrival George made his pronouncement, which the Lord Cartwright seemed to not take too seriously... George suspected that maybe Cartwright was involved, seeing who supported the King as to punish them after the fact.
George felt he needed to go into seclusion for a short while to contemplate the fate of this course of events. He bid his pregnant wife, Jane and their son Luke, farewell and promised to return in time for the christening of their new child.
Now for Lady Jane, George going away wasn't anything new, in fact event when he was around George seemed to be distant, caught up in his devotions to the LORD more than his role of being a noble, husband or father.
Jane had started to grow tired of her pious husband's ways soon after Luke was born. She felt he wasted a large amount of their wealth in build Sir John Spencer a new home just to secure godparents for Luke. She began to spend more time at feast and festivals, much to her husband's dismay thought he dare not say anything out of love for her.
It was at one such feast she met Bronimir, 6th Duke of Elestra. She was immediately struck by his handsome feature and draw to his merry persona. After a few casks of wine and flaggons of ale were had, Jane and Bronimir let their guards down and passions fly...
Since then the pair have seen little of each other, Jane feeling a ashamed that she had done something so wrong, especially since she knew her husband, however distant would never had done the same thing.
To add to the situation, Jane found herself pregnant and she honestly cant say who the father is as she and her husband had lay together and know each other in the Biblical sense around the same time.
Shortly after George went away to his hermitage on the small coastal rock island of Fishbourne, Jane went into labour and delivered a son. She decided to name him Joscelin George, after her father and her husband.
George arrived home soon after hearing the news of his son's arrival into these uncertain times. Upon hearing of his name he was well pleased with his wife and did something very out of character, he lavished her with gifts... an expensive necklace made of the finest pearls and with a large golden cross that contained a large ruby heart. Jane broke down in tears and instantly confessed to George what had transpired nine months earlier.
George said he didnt care that she had done such a thing because he knew in his heart the child was his and that he had knew he needed to become more of a husband and father.
George's sudden change in personality has made many in the nobility shocked that the once simple pious FitzGilbert had become a little more like them... what transpired at Fishbourne for this transformation to have taken place... does it have anything to do with the fact Duke of Itland has an estate on the way to Fishbourne? that that Lord Stephen, son of Duke Elijah was also on the island at the same time? or was it a visit to the godparents of his firstborn, The Spencers on the way home?
