YEAR 41
While out shopping with Juliet and Zosia, Alathia witnesses someone shoplift. The security tag on an item goes off, and the shoplifter is caught, but Alathia has to explain how it all works to her children.
YEAR 42
Alathia and Priya begin learning Hindu in hopes of better connecting with Priya's family. Knowledge of this language will also help Alathia get a job in microbiology, in which she has a degree.
YEAR 43
Alathia catches hand, foot and mouth disease and is forced out of work for a week. Fortunately, antibiotics kick in quickly and the illness doesn't spread to any other family members.
YEAR 44
Lemon, the family dog sadly passes away after thirteen amazing puppy years. Only a few months after her passing, Alathia and Priya take Cassidy, Juliet and Zosia to a shelter where they adopt Mango, a sweet one year old German Shepherd mix.
YEAR 45
Alathia picks up a new hobby- acrylic painting. One of her friends had a paint-and-sip night, and from there she has been addicted!
YEAR 46
Alathia's pop, Donovan, passes away of a stroke at the age of 83. Everyone, Alathia especially, is devestated. Alathia, her dad and siblings hold a celebration of life for him which makes her feel more at peace with the situation.
YEAR 47
A movie is filming in the town the Paris' live in! Drone shots are being taken of nearby roads, so there is a chance that Alathia, Priya, Ariella or Cassidy will be seen driving in the movie!
YEAR 48
Alathia connects with a biological brother on her donor's side of the family! Alathia had never really looked into finding biological half siblings, but is excited now to be able to get to know him. Alathia also hopes that her children might have the possibility to meet their half siblings when they're older, if they so wish.
YEAR 49
Cassidy falls off a small cliff while hiking and suffers a head injury, which leads to temporary amnesia! Alathia and Priya are heartbroken for Cassidy, but thankfully the amnesia wears off after about two weeks. Cassidy still must attend occupational therapy and many other appointments, but at least he'll be able to make a full recovery.
YEAR 50
After many years of hard work, Alathia gets hired as a lab technician specializing in microbiology! It is so exciting that Alathia has an opportunity to follow her lifelong dream!
