This year, Henry set up an apprenticeship for Bobby with a local alchemist. Bobby was never built for the physical labor involved in lumberjacking, so Henry had been searching for a more suitable trade. Despite his mischievous tendencies, Bobby is very smart and has been enjoying learning his new trade.

Copper passed away this year after a long, productive life. The whole family was sad to see him go--especially the kids, who have never been without him. Lady, too, is distraught, and Henry is actively looking for another horse to be Lady's companion--despite the expense.
Added to the Harcourt family this year is twelve year old Miles Griffith Collier. Henry picked him up one day in London, trying to steal some food he had purchased. Henry took pity on the scrawny boy and, after learning he had been an orphan for the last few years, brought him home to live with the rest of the family. Miles is grateful for a place to call home more permanently, and he has found an unexpected friend in Bobby.

Just when they thought they were nearly done raising children, Emelyn got pregnant! Baby Luke was born in late spring, and the older kids, especially Eden, have been very invoved in his care.
Bobby's apprenticeship has been going well, and he hopes to be a full-fledged alchemist by next year.
Alys has been studying herbal medicine with the local apothecary, but has her eyes set on marrying one of the local boys she's become infatuated with.
Miles has put on some weight and grown into a very strong, very helpful child. He has a beautiful singing voice, which the family discovered after he'd lived with them for about six months. Miles absolutely idolizes Henry, and has been begging him to take him on logging trips so he can learn to be a lumberjack too.
Eden, when her nose isn't buried in a book, loves to care for baby Luke. She is nearly a woman herself and is looking forward to the time when she will have children of her own!

One of Alys' dearest friends passed away this year after giving birth to her daughter, Constance. The Harcourt family took the baby in--Eden is thrilled to have two young charges to look after now.
Also of note this year, Lady, Henry and Emelyn's horse, passed away this year. Henry was never able to find a suitable companion for the mare, but she eventually got used to a solitary life in the pasture, but she loved being around the older kids in the barn.

This year, Henry was crushed when a pile of logs fell on him. Miraculously, he was not harmed! Miles, who witnessed the event, has been telling everyone that angels protected Henry.
Robert, now an alchemist in his own right, married Charity Strangewayes, the young lady he has been courting for the past several months. Robert (who no longer goes by Bobby) and Charity moved into a small home next to the apothecary.
Alys, who works with Charity (and her father) in the apothecary, married Andrew Stone, who just purchased his own plot of land to begin farming. Alys has already claimed space for her herbs on the farm.
