She had a long full life, and I will certainly miss her humor and her memories of times long past.Year 3: Birth of baby girl named “Alyss Mayra Wouters” after her great-great-grandmother who died last year. She has wavy black hair and hazel eyes.Year 4: I was diagnosed with Stage Two ovarian cancer, and have been told that while I will live, I face a difficult road and will probably never have any more children.Year 5: Happy year: Cancer free and a job promotion! I’m now Head Executive of Janitors in the Duke of Burgers Corporation.Year 6: Adoption of Vietnamese children (3 boys and 2 girls). Their names are “Hùng Dinh Nguyen Wouters, Bình Thuần Nyugen Wouters, Xuân Ngo Nyugen, Thi Yên Nguyen Wouters, and Lành Thùy Nyugen Wouters.” We call them “Hun,” “Ben,” “Xu,” “Yen,” and “Lan” respectively. Lan has wavy brown hair and brown eyes.Year 7: Job promotion again; I’m now the International Head, so we moved to Ireland where the international office is located.Year 8: Curtis was in a car accident this year. Alyss is seven and has never been to America or an amusement park.Year 13: Surprise! Birth of boy “Jiro Leif Wouters” with straight red hair and brown eyes (we call him by his middle name, “Leif”). Ten years apart on the same day!Year 14: This year I took a business trip to Brazil. It was exciting but I missed my family during the two weeks I was gone.Year 15: Adoption of Russian girl with straight brown hair and blue eyes age 1 year named “Arina Natasha Vasilyev Wouters” (but we call her “Ari”). We weren’t sure we were going to adopt more, but on a trip to Ukraine we met these three and learned that if someone didn’t adopt them soon, they were going to be separated. Of course we immediately said we would love to take them.Year 19: This year Curtis’s brother died and left his two sons “Arnold Mars and Raibeart Manolo” called “Arn” and “Rob” in our care. They are 14 and 16.Year 20: There was a car accident this year and Alyss was paralyzed from the waist down. She is 17 and is having trouble coping, but she is a strong girl.
