After Gitta's birth, Walter had his people looking into Heinrich's affairs to find information that could be used against him should he decided to cause trouble and negate the story fabricated around Gitta's birth. It was during these enquiries that Heinrich's numerous marital indescretions truly came to light, including the fact that Heinrich was guilty of bigamy! He had been stationed in france for some time and had actually taken a french commonwoman as his wife! Her name is Gabrielle and was only just 16 at the time of their marriage. Gabrielle is now 19 and has borne Heinrich two daughters, Jacqueline who is 2, and the baby, Margot. Given this news, Eleonore understandably feels much less guilty about her current arrangement and has embraced her position as Walter's mistress whole heartedly, though she does feel pity for her husbands child bride. Information gathered indicates that Gabrielle has no idea that her 'husband' is even a Duke, let alone that he already has a family, rather she seems to believe that he is just a military man and a commoner. For the large part, both Eleonore and Heinrich now only associate a few times a year, and this suits them both fine. They realise that they made each other miserable for a long time, trapped inside a marriage that neither wanted. They will remain married of course for divorce would be an unthinkable shame on their families, but they are under no illusions of love or fidelity. The children are all turning into fine young people. Now at the age of 12, Valeria is an attractive girl who sings and dances beautifully, and is a talented artist. Some interest has been shown in some of the lords at court of securing her for a marriage with their sons, but Eleonore is reluctant to committ to any such arrangement as she dreads condeming her daughters to the same type of marriage that she suffers herself. Rather, Eleonore encourages Valeria, and also Amelie, to mingle at court and speak with the young lords who visit there to see if any love matches could be born in the coming years. One such young man whom Valeria does seem to have quite the raport with is Prince Arthur, the eldest son of Prince Joseph.Amelie is very much like Valeria and the two are very close friends. She was also very close with Max and Hanne, and misses Max dearly now that he has gone away for military training. She is a very bright and energetic child, whom loves to run through the grounds or ride her house, just as much as she enjoys painting and needlework.Fritzi is a proud boy, and idolises August. Whilst August is Walter's shadow, Fritzi has become Augusts! It is quite comical to see the 3 of them together in the grounds. Fritzi is a very observant boy which a quick mind and a maturity that is older than his years. He also shows a great affinity for politics and trade. Once he is a bit older Eleonore has already decided that she will tell him the truth about who his father is, and Eleonore hopes that he will serve his brother August well as a political adviser of some kind once August is King. Johan is very much like his father with a quick temper and a brooding temprament. He tends to be very sullen and serious all the time, but also shows promise with a sword even at his tender age. Eleonore has discussed his prospects with Heinrich at his last visit home, and they have agreed that Johan will be sent for military training once he is of age as the regument lifestyle and discipline will serve him well. As the future Duke of Bergfalk, a title that was passed over Fritzi once Heinrich realised that Fritzi was not genetically a Bergfalk, Johan will also be expected to undergo strict schooling, which he may struggle with as quite truthfully is not equipped with a lot of book smarts.Gitta is a curious little girl who just loves to laugh and giggle. Whlist Gitta carries the name Bergfalk, the Bial population do not believe that as, like Fritzi, she bears to much resemblance to the Kaarmann family to be ignored. In particular, Gitta is beginning to look like a mini version of the Bial Jewel, Princess Annelie... What this means for Gitta's future can not be known as yet.Eleonore has now welcomed another daughter and there has been little effort taken to explain the birth of this child. Heinrich has now not been back to Bial in many many months, and it is well known that the king had sent him to Orlais to help on their protection. Rumours will fly as to little Lady Mathilde's father they are sure, but as has always been their response to such things, they will simply decline to comment. The current unrest is very nerve-wracking for everyone concerned at present. Eleonore supports Walter's political choice to remain seemingly nuetral, but also wonders how long King Louis will allow him to do so without forcing his hand. Eleonore wonders how Adelheid feels about all of this and hopes that she and the children are coping well on the other side of the battle lines. Heinrich writes occasionally to assure them that he still lives, and other than that Eleonore supposed she must just sit back in the comfort of the palace, surrounded by her children, her sister, and her neices and nephews and wait...
