Dmitri is not a bad name, as long as it doesn't clash horribly with the surname. The name has never been exactly popular in the States (more than 5 miles from Coney Island Ave.), but sometime in the 70's the French went through a period when it was all the rage to give kids Russian names.
As a result I have TWO younger distant cousins named Dmitri, a Tatiana, a Boris, etc. I think the Froggies finally worked it out of their system, tho. But I guess "Boris" is better than Benoit-Marie...
