What does the name Germelina mean?
My grandmother's cousin was named Germelina, and I've recently been fascinated by that name. I also learned that the daughter of the half-sister of the grandfather of my grandma and her cousin was named Germilina.Rate my pnl - https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/219194

diminutive (a grammatical form with varied uses) of Germelo, apparently a variant of Hermelo, possibly referring to the locality Ermelo in Spain, possibly a variant of Hermilo (a form Germilo also exists), which is a Spanish diminutive of Hermes.

Germen, in Dutch and Frisian, means German. Germelina would be a female form of that name - perhaps just because it was a name her parents liked, or because the family was originally German themselves, or to honour a relative or friend named Germen.

Well, her parents were Filipino, like my grandmother's, and I doubt there would have been any Dutch or Frisian people named Germen in a random town in the province in the 1920s. Thanks anyway, though! :)
