I think Finn and Fionn are variants of the same name, Finn being the Anglicized version. But I could be mistaken...

You're right, Mike and Phyllis . Fionn and Finn are variants. Not sure what dusty corner of the memory I got the "jewel" thing from. Like my 78-year-old dad says, the mind is always the second thing to go. And neither of us can remember what the first thing is...
