Message: "Tata ?" - Behind the Name

I've been talkin to a guy who shares the same name as I, and he says that the name 'Tatton' dates back to 16th century England to a warrior named 'Tata' famed for raping and pilaging. I was wondering if anyone reqognizes the name Tata and has any useful infromation in the name/ the man.

I know that "tata" means "auntie" in French, but yeah... lol

Tatton is a place name in England and probably means "farmstead, estate of a man named Tata".

The name Tata is an Old English masculine name and means "glad, cheerful" (the name Tate is derived from it).
