I've only seen it listed at a very few websites, and I'm curious about its validity. So, does anyone know if this is an actual name or just a compound name, or something totally made up?

I would say that it's a misspelling of Gwenael (like Micheal for Michael), and that the meaning that places like babynamesworld have listed is simply made up . . . like the vast majority of their meanings!
