I was just wondering if Amani for a girl is really Swahili for 'peace'? Can anyone confirm this?

According to the following site, "amani" is the Swahili word for "peace".

This does NOT necessarily mean that Amani is used as a name in East Africa. Quite a few Swahili words have been turned into names by African-Americans, but are not used as names by native Swahili speakers.
