Where did you find that meaning?
I've just done a google search for Lowan (because of your post on the Opinions board, which I've answered), and all I can discover is that it's a relatively uncommon Irish surname. I can't find a meaning for it at all.The "fighting chicken" meaning sounds highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened. If you tell us where it comes from, we may be able to confirm or debunk it.
