translation
My father was christened "Wenceslaus." I am wondering what the English translation is for this name. My grandparents were both from Poland. Yet this name appears to be German or Slavic.

Wenceslas / Wenzeslaus
Some translate the "wence" part as "wreath", so you could loosely translate it as Stephen

Hi,
Wenceslaus/Wenzeslaus are latinized forms of the Old Polish name Wiénczys³aw, which means "more" + "fame".
