Emmett/Emmott = Emmot, a diminutive form of Emma
Tibbs/Tibbott/Ibbott = from dimin. forms of Isabel
Marriott = Marion
Maggs/Moggs = Margaret
And there are more..Research just in (really) shows that Baxter and Webster do NOT indicate gender - they are as likely to be used for men as women, and reflect dialect instead...Hi Nanaea! Long time no see?
