If it's De-ian, it might be a variation of the Slavic Deyan, meaning "one who is active", if it's De-zhan, it might ve coming from French...

Dejan is pronounced (Day-jahn).
It is a boys name but I don't know the country of origin , which is one of the things I would like to find out.

Don't know the meaning, but..

doesn't the name originate from the former Yugoslavia?
Possibly I'm confusing it with Deyan...But you could try lists of Serbian/Croatian names.
