Re: The Erinyes

Excellent point, Silver :)
THe Erinyes were nasty little pieces of work:
1. Tisiphone: "avenger of blood" is derived from "tino" ("to pay a price") and "phonos" ("murder").
2. Allecto: derived from "allektos" meaning "ceaseless, implacable"
3. Megaira: derived from "megairo", "feel a grudge towards". "Megairo", is interestingly derived from "megas" ("big") and "gerairo" ("to offer a gift or honor").
(Henry George Liddell, Robert Scott, A Greek-English Lexicon)

I've always liked Tisiphone, name-wise. Megaira's nice too.
Male Allecto? I've never heard of that. Interesting.
