what do you think if I called my dear baby girl whose name is Elizabeth Deborah, Debby-Liz? a friend just informed my that she doen't think much of it and it's weird. what do you think? please help. liesel

Not weird, just seriously dated, like Peggy-Sue and Billie-Jean and Mary-Ann. Debby is unattractive anyway compared to Deborah, and Liz and Lisa are being replaced by Beth and even Betsy. When you decided on her names, which I really like, you must have had some ideas on what she'd be called (as opposed to named). I suppose she might, just might, look like a Debby-Liz, but to me it's long past its sell-by and also down-market.
Livin in the southern US, I don't find Debby-Liz a weird name, but "down-market"? Nicely put...

I don't agree with you. I think it's cute and one Debbie-Liz looks great in a room full of Madyson's, MacKenzie's, and Isabela's.
