I have never heard of an ancient princess, goddess or warrior by the name of Alison / Allison. Since it is a mediaeval name, there won't have been any "ancient" Alisons.

Thanks Chrisell for shedding some light on some un clear facts although I still feal left in the dark on this subject but hope to hear more fackts from you and many others.
No worries - in what way do you feel "in the dark"? What is it that you want to know?
Well one part of my curiosity is satisfied with the origin of the name but for all I know thair could be 101 meanings and beliefs atatched to it over the years of its existence and I have no means of finding them but it looks like I might have to be content with what ive bean told.
