Trailer of coming attractionsSurprisingly, the girl list of the supposedly "evil" and "belligerent" Peloponnese (the area including Sparta) includes only one "military-chic" name as opposed to 14 in the case of the "enlightened" Attica (Athens).Comes to show you how the Athenian establishment has hypocritically distorted history!Pavlos the Spartan

Maybe the Athenians gave their girl children names like that, coz they wished they were cool like the Spartans. :)I always liked the Spartans better, anyway. The Spartans always seemed (to me, anyway) to be the wolves while the Athenians were the domesticated dogs.Hey, aren't you originally a Spartan, Pavlos?-- Nanaea

Yep, my grandfather was born in Vachos (derived from Bacchus), a small village close to the town of Areopolis, in the region south of Sparta called Mani:)
Patrick Leigh Fermor wrote an excellent book about my home turf, *Mani*.
