Zumwalt
If it is German, it could mean "to the forest". There is the name Zumstein, meaning "oto (or: of) the rock", or Zumsteg ("to the footbridge/footpath". So Zumwalt would originally mean someone living by the forest. Don't worry about the T (forest is "Wald" in modern German), there was no such thing as correct spelling in those days.Andy ;—)
