It always helps if you specify all that you know of a name when you ask a question: the linguistic, religious, cultural, etc. background helps.
In Sanskrit, the prefix su- means good, and the word sama, cognate with English some/same, means even. With the liasion changing the -s- to an -S- and a final feminine suffix, suSamA means, among other things, exquisite beauty. In many modern Indian languages, the pronounciation drops the middle -a-.
