For one, if somones name is Emily why would you want to have the nn Mimi ? Emily is short enough! And Amelia , I have never heard of the nn Mimi coming from Amelia though I am sure it can happen! My real name is Diana and people would try to nn me either Deedee or Di, though Princess Di is my fav! But where would you get Deedee from Diana ? It isnt Deana but my point is that nn dont have to come from what your first name is. I have a friend who calls me banana or banana peal, his little sister calls me Dina and my husbands parent call me princess Di. And on here I use Gia Nadine ... nn's are just that nn's. How else would you get Dick from Richard ? It isnt in there!
