So, the first syllable rhymes with ''him''?
It sort of sounds like "imagine"? (with an "o" instead of the "a".)I always thought Imogene Coca's name was pronounced Eye-mo-gene, but maybe I've only seen it written.Thanks.

JenniferImogene Coca pronounces (pronounced?) her name Ih-moe-gene, as did the rest of the people who worked with Sid Caesar. You might be able to find some tapes from the old shows she was in and they might have the pronunciation during opening or closing credits. :)
Either way, even if they don't have the pronunciation, enjoy. ;)Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

My wife's aunt Imogene always pronounced her name EYE-mo-gene, but everyone thought she was a little weird, as her parents had given her the standard pronunciation at birth. Oh course, the aunt's best friend Yvonne pronounced HER name WYE-VON, so I guess weirdness attracts.

"It sort of sounds like "imagine"? (with an "o" instead of the "a".)"******I think the "o" is more of an "eh" sound, actually. Yes, it does sound like "Imagine" -- I gather that's why it's also considered a "Hippy Name" on most Hippy websites that offer baby names. Because of John Lennon's song *Imagine*.-- Nanaea

Rent the movie "Down To You" with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julia Stiles. It's a really bad movie, but her name is Imogen . It's pronounced like Nanea said, but I would explain it like, IM-eh-jin, but say it fast. Oh I don't know, RENT THE MOVIE!! ;)Sarahjeanne
