Re: Meaning of name
in reply to a message by Hillel
According to https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H1985&t=KJV and Strong's Concordance, that particular |-el| is not a suffix meaning "God," but part of the root word, meaning "praising." God IS the implied recipient (of said praise), however.
It is the same root word as Hallelujah, which DOES end in God's name, Yah.
