There is indeed a prati (towards etc., with Greek cognates) + ish (to seek for, want, with many Germanic cognates) which means to seek, though I have never seen the word pratIsha which is presumably the Sanskrit form. Is this the word with the meaning `that which is sought after' which you are referring to above? In South Indian transliteration, pratheesh is indeed the form of this word.
