I don't know which country you live in or what its exact laws are.
I have gotten a few requests over the years from parents in Germany and Austria asking for help to prove that names were in use in the USA, so that the authorities in those countries would approve them. If you live in a country that accepts such data, and the name you are thinking of is used in English speaking countries, I am sure you could gather data on its use that you could present to the authorities.
The name which I remember giving evidence for the most often in the past was Keanu.
