It doesn't say Schular, but
Schuyler. I can understand that an English speaking person seeing
Schuyler would pronounce this roughly like
Skylar, so I would think it's plausible that that is how the name came into being.
Also English speakers managed to turn Breukelen into
Brooklyn and Baas into Boss for example, so why would
Schuyler into
Skyler be so ahrd to imagine?
