I, too, am named Twila. A Cherokee Indian heard my name once and told me it meant "wildflower." Recently, I met a woman who was also Native American, and she had a sister-in-law named Twila. She confirmed for me that it also meant wildflower. There was supposedly a song in the 1920s about an indian maiden named Twila.
