However, where I live, there's a woman whose name is Anna, with the European pronunciation; the usual pet form here is Annetjie, which sounds rather like: UNakie. And she went into the cosmetics and beauty preparations business and changed the spelling to Annique, which looks sufficiently like (a) her own name and (b) a tweaked form of Unique! The products are selling well, so good luck to her. And it shows quite neatly how things sometimes happen.
