As I asked before on this board, where did the meaning come from? I am not aware of this meaning, and I just checked one dictionary, and it does not provide this meaning either.
It was indeed the name of Gautama Buddha's son, and is quite popular in some parts of India. I always thought that it meant someone who grabs hold of you, an epithet of earthly desires.
