Interesting that it's listed under Native American...it's a Greenlandic name, but I've never heard it used by Alaskan or Canadian Inuit people. Coincidentally, the meaning is incorrect -- it should just be "girl". Young woman would be arnaraq. It's pronounced ni-vee-AR-see-aq. The q at the end represents a sound not found in English or other European languages...it's sort of like a k, but very far back in the throat using almost a glottal stop. Also, the r is not rolled, flipped, or like an English r...it is also in the back of the throat, perhaps most similar to an Israeli Hebrew r.~ Caitlín
