No. Isabeau is the Middle Ages French form of Isabelle. Click on Isabelle for the meaning.

Could it be...Considered a male form, as Belle is to female as Beau is to male?My own counter argument is that there are records of Henry VIII calling the Princess Elizabeth dear "Ysabeau", so I doubt it was a unisex nickname (rather, just a female play of Isabelle, as a nn for Elizabeth)

It does sound boyish to most, but with Margot, Brunehaut, Mahaut... is one of the female French Middle Ages names ending in -o :)

No, because if I remember correctly the endings are -elle and -eau.I think, I could be talking crap, in which case it's best to ignore me, everyone else does :)
