No, it looks like "Daria" in Russian means "strong, conquering" and has been used as a personal name for centuries.
The word "darya" means "river" in one of the Turkmen dialects (Kirghiz, etc., in central Asia), but for all I know it may indeed be used as a personal name in modern Russia. Different word origin, tho.
