Hmmm, yes, perhaps she was called Richarda and the French wrote her name down as Richarde in Marie Mechtilde's birth certificate.
Spanish names have indeed survived in the Netherlands, but mostly only the female names, like Gertrudis, Catherina, Cecilia, Isabella, etc. Most Spanish male names were translated into Dutch, Latin, French or German (at least here in the province of Limburg), like: Eduardo --> Eduard, Nicolás --> Nicolaas, Alfonso --> Alphonse, etc.
