Originally, the Pledge DIDN'T include the phrase "under God" because the person who wrote it was an agnostic and a socialist (I think that was what was in the various texts I read about him *shrug*)
I'm kinda curious about the other pagan religions would place in its 'stead *ponder, ponder* (smell of burning rubber and the like.) Oh, well. *shrug*

It is interesting. :) "Under god" was added sometime around 1952 [I'm bad with dates, let's hope I have the right century] 'cos the US was fighting "godless Communism," according to some articles on the subject. *grin* It'd be interesting to see what every religion would put there, although probably some religions would have different ones amongst them.
